This device fits under the palm of the hand and has two or three buttons. As we move the mouse on the table, the mouse pointer moves on the screen. The pressing of the mouse button is called clicking the mouse button. Clicking a mouse button twice quickly is called double click. C. Scanner: Scanner sends an image of a page to the computer. Any photograph or text on the page is transferred to the computer. With the help of special software this text can be spoken out. Such a system is called a text reading system. D. Mike: Computer can perform functions in response to the voice commands also. We can also record voice on a computer. Computer can also take dictation. It types on its own what we speak. All this voice is sent to a mike which is attached to a sound card in the system box. 2.2 Output Devices: Output devices are those devices that a computer uses to give information to us. Types of output devices: A. Monitor: It is also called a visual display unit. It is a device like a small television. The size of the monitor is normally measured from the top left corner to the bottom right corner of the display area of monitor. Normally 14 or 15 monitors are used with the PCs. 17 or 19 monitors are also available. It can either be coloured or black and white. The black and white monitor is called monochrome monitor. B.
